Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Details

• Heavy Orthopedics, Gynecology, Genitourinary, and General Surgeries
• Weekend shifts included in call requirements
• Call schedule: 4 first on-call shifts, 3 second on-call shifts including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Work Expectations

• Must work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• State License: Georgia RN license verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties; check if applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), or ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
• Other Certifications: As applicable based on specialty and unit

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs
• Color Blind Testing required for all candidates
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units (3 attempts allowed)
• General competency exam required for nursing staff

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required

Documentation & Verification

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• Two clinical references required
• Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
• Orientation and onboarding must be completed according to facility guidelines to avoid start delays

This position offers an opportunity for RNs with at least 1 year of experience to work in a surgical unit with a variety of specialties, including orthopedic and gynecological surgeries, with a structured call and weekend schedule. Prior travel experience is not required.
