Job Opportunity: Registered Ultrasound Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Job Summary

The Registered Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for providing quality imaging to assist in patient diagnosis and care, supporting Radiologists during exams.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an Ultrasound/Sonography program
• Minimum of 1 year related experience as a Sonographer (Sonography specialty experience required)

Certifications

• ARDMS or ARRT registered
• Current CPR certification
• Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) — refer to job details for applicability

Work Schedule & Call

• Call required: 1 day per week
• Call days: Friday and every 3rd weekend

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist
• Occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics
• Perform sonography exams for 8+ hours in various hospital settings (department, surgery, emergency, patient floors)
• Must have keen hearing and visual acuity
• Ability to handle critical and highly stressful situations with composure

Compliance & Background Checks

• Background check required (7-year check within 6 months of start, annual updates for direct candidates)
• E-Verify, HHS/OIG, EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• National and state-specific sex offender checks required within 30 days of start
• State criminal history check (ARCH) required within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam required within 1 year of start (time sensitive: must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required (time sensitive: within 72 hours of contract signing)
• TB questionnaire required regardless of TB result
• Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing required (negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination documentation required or exemption/declination notification

Documentation & Compliance

• I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID
• Social Security card copy
• Employment application/resume
• References: 2 required within 3 years (facility prefers within 2 years)
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually
• Facility-specific documents including personal appearance, dress code, pre-screening compliance, orientation, and confidentiality forms must be completed prior to start

Safety Sensitive Position

• This position is safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 (Medical Marijuana regulations)
