Job Details

  • Position: Scrub Tech - CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) with Cardiac Call obligation
  • Start Date: January 26
  • Schedule: Mid shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes
  • Floating: Yes, within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated unless otherwise stated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 1 week
  • Patient Population: Orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics. Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular is a plus.
  • Environment: Very busy, high acuity academic medical center
  • Average Daily Census: 50-75 patients
  • Rooms: 28
  • Scrub Color: Any (scrubs provided)
  • Charting System: EPIC

Experience & Certifications

  • Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • Preferred Certifications (may be required depending on unit):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification (refer to unit job description)

Compliance & Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
  • Must run checks on current and former legal names and known aliases
  • Sex offender search required
  • Education verification required for Med Lab Techs and RNs (diploma/transcript acceptable)
  • WA WATCH background check required for Washington state
  • Drug screen: 10 panel within 1 year of start (required by agency, not facility)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency requirement)
  • Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (specific mask types required)
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility guidelines
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (exceptions for birthdate prior to 1/1/57)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination required (vaccines alone not sufficient)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (history of disease not accepted at this facility)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking

Additional Information

  • Performance evaluation requested at end of assignment (Montlake location only)
  • Radiation badges not provided by agency for new candidates; must be supplied by facility if needed
  • Candidates must watch EPIC/Alaris integration video and complete attestation prior to start (for RNs)
  • Various facility-specific agreements and checklists required prior to start
  • Medication and competency exams may be required depending on role and unit
  • Suicide prevention training required for multi-state licensed nurses working in Washington
