Job Description

• Position: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse
• Shift: Nights, 1830-0700
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse License or Compact Multistate RN License
• Minimum 1 year hospital RN experience (Medical/Surgical specialty)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association required)

Certifications & Compliance

• BLS (AHA required)
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within a year of start, updated yearly
• NIH Certification updated as required
• Ascension EKG Exam with passing score (80% minimum)
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
• Fit Test (annual update required)
• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer, no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine, no declinations accepted
• Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing prior to start
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, updated annually or after break in service
• Employment and Education Verification within 90 days prior to start
• Skills Checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
• Driver’s License/State ID verification

Additional Information

• Must complete various Ascension-specific onboarding requirements and attestations prior to start
• Documentation of all required vaccinations, tests, and certifications must be current and uploaded as required
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for a Medical/Surgical RN with at least 1 year of hospital experience, holding an active Kansas or Compact RN license, and current BLS certification, seeking a 13-week night shift assignment in Manhattan, KS.
