Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. Responsibilities include:

Utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
Demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership for safe delivery of care
Maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education
Delegating patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
Supervising assigned personnel delivering patient care

Requirements

Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Experience: Minimum 2+ years L&D experience required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP required
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)

Additional Information

48-hour weekly guarantees are NOT approved
Blocked scheduling CANNOT be approved
Scope of role includes nursing care for antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mom and baby), and special care nursery babies
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), Athena (Clinic)
Unit details: 1 Triage bed, 3 Labor beds, 4 Postpartum beds
Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:4
No floating required
No call required
