Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (Travel)
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. Responsibilities include:
- Utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership for safe delivery of care
- Maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education
- Delegating patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
- Supervising assigned personnel delivering patient care
Requirements
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years L&D experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP required
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Additional Information
- 48-hour weekly guarantees are NOT approved
- Blocked scheduling CANNOT be approved
- Scope of role includes nursing care for antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mom and baby), and special care nursery babies
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), Athena (Clinic)
- Unit details: 1 Triage bed, 3 Labor beds, 4 Postpartum beds
- Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:4
- No floating required
- No call required
