Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

• Work in a hybrid Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab setting.
• Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Required clinical experience includes:

  • Procedural Sedation
  • Gastro Studies
  • Urinary Procedures
  • Pulmonary Procedures
  • Vascular Procedures
• No first-time travelers accepted.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.
• Call schedule: 7-12 days of call within a 6-week scheduling period.
• Self-scheduling with manager approval and balancing.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2.
• Local candidates accepted (same Baltimore/Washington region).
• Flu vaccine is mandatory; no exemptions allowed.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty.
• Prior travel experience: Required (No first-time travelers).

Certifications & Licenses

• Current Maryland nursing license or compact state license with proof of residency.
• ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA, ARC, or US Department of Defense accepted).
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC).
• NIH Stroke Certification required (AHA or APEX accepted), must be obtained within the first week if not already held.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, Driver’s License/State ID).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required annually (no exemptions).
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required.
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only.

• Call is required as part of the schedule.
