Location: Augusta, Georgia

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry. Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required.
  • 1st time travelers are accepted.
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit Type: Medical Surgical with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses.
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Unit Size: 38 beds, average daily census of 33
  • Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue
  • Floating: Yes
  • Call: None
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required based on unit assignment or specialty
  • State License (Georgia) verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Annual NURSYS verification required

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours NBO).

Health & Background Requirements

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification.
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable under certain conditions).
  • TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually.
  • Immunizations required or proof of immunity:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Telemetry, Medical Surgical Telemetry, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU. Candidates have 3 attempts to pass.

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate.
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
  • Floating and holiday work expectations apply.
  • References and work history verification required by the agency but not by the client.
