Job Opportunity: RN - Surgical Services
Location: West Burlington, Iowa

Job Description
- Provide intra-operative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with surgical team members including surgeons and anesthesia providers.
- Primary duties include circulating procedures, instrumentation, assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers.
- Patient populations include all ages undergoing surgical procedures in specialties such as ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics (including Spine), Podiatry, Dental/Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Urology, OB/Gynecology (including C-sections), Vascular, and Bariatric surgery.
- Clinical activities include circulating, instrumenting, first assisting, patient education, and serving as a resource nurse.
- Additional call hours required: approximately 70-80 hours per 4-week period with a 30-minute response time.
Required Experience

- MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Tdap valid within 10 years; declinations accepted.
- Negative TB test within past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG) or appropriate documentation if history of positive TB.
- Annual TB questionnaire for positive TB or specific packages.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed prior to start.
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start; THC not required.
- Health statement/physician statement within last 12 months.
- Color vision test.
- OSHA questionnaire completed by candidate.
Professional & Administrative Requirements
- Driver’s License or State ID (unexpired government-issued photo ID).
- Verification of education through third party or combination of diploma/transcripts.
- Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG, NSO, OFAC within 30 days of start.
- References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor reference.
- Resume or profile submission required.
- I-9 attestation completed on agency letterhead.
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months (does not expire).
- Contract employee data sheet.
- Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement form.
- Evergreen link attestation for system access completed within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
Call Requirements
- Approximately 70-80 hours of call in a 4-week period.
