Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
  • Work schedule: Saturday through Monday (day shifts).
  • Required certifications: ACLS and NIH Certification.

    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
    • Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted)
    • Influenza Vaccine (required Sept 1 – March 31; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
    • TB Test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
    • Fit Test (completed prior to start; approved mask types specified)
    • Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
    • Color Vision Test
  • Background & Screening:
    • Drug Screen (10 panel within 30 days of start)
    • Background Check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender) within 30 days of start
    • Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG screening within 30 days of start
    • NSO and OFAC checks within 30 days of start
    • References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor reference
  • Other Requirements:
    • Skills Checklist (completed within 12 months)
    • I-9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
    • Contract Employee Data Sheet
    • OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completed)
    • Pre-Orientation CBL Acknowledgement
