Job Description
- Position: Certified OR Scrub Tech
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Certifications Required:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (Certified ST)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, 48 hours per pay period
- Start Date: ASAP, any Monday
- Start Times: Variable between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM
- Call & Holidays: Every 3rd weekend and holiday on call
- Call Response Time: 20 minutes
Required Experience
- Specialty Experience: At least 1 year as a Surgical Technologist
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications & Licensure
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Other certifications (if applicable) may include ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, but not specifically required for this role
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal Background Check within 1 year of start, including:
- 7-year search
- SS Trace
- Counties
- Sex offender registry
- Nationwide check
- Education verification (diploma acceptable in lieu of third-party verification)
- International searches if candidate has lived/worked outside the US
- Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Clearance required prior to start (no pending fingerprints allowed)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG excluded provider checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing (9 panel) within 1 year, not required annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccination (no religious declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per Minnesota state guidelines
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof via positive titer or 2 vaccines (time sensitive)
- Hepatitis B vaccination, positive titer, or declination
- Varicella proof via positive titer or 2 vaccines (time sensitive)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references from recent employers within 2 years
- Skills checklist required for all clinical candidates
- Education verification required (third party, except for CNAs)
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (grey background, no selfies, JPG format)
- Dress code adherence (RRTs wear dove gray scrubs)
- Completion of facility-specific education modules during orientation (approx. 16 hours)
- Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
- Badge return required on last day of assignment
Work Environment & Policies
- Facility follows strict COVID-19 policies including vaccination and exemption procedures
- Candidates must complete Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
- Candidates may need to travel to a livescan location for fingerprinting if not available locally
