Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (front and back of card required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• State nursing license for Pennsylvania, must be in hand at time of submission
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for ER & Behavioral Health units (if applicable)

Experience Requirements

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • SS Trace and County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender searches
  • Pennsylvania Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (FBI Fingerprinting) with detailed process for submission and follow-up
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
• Drug testing: Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)

Competency & Facility Specific Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation checklist, pandemic attestation, code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, disclosure statement, and other onboarding documents prior to start
• Completion of various mandatory trainings and quizzes with 100% passing score, including:

  • Assessment of Patient Policy
  • Interdisciplinary Plans of Care
  • Skin Integrity Training
  • Mobility Training
  • Catheter Training
• Review of Cardiac Procedure Education Binder (for Telemetry units)
• Competency Assessment form to be brought to orientation (for Telemetry units)

References & Skills

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years of start)
• Annual skills checklist required

This position requires a highly organized and compliant ICU Registered Nurse ready to work rotating 12-hour shifts in a travel contract role in Pennsylvania. All certifications, licenses, and health documentation must be current and verifiable prior to start.
