Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Location: Mount Vernon, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 7:15 PM – 6:45 AM
  • Weekends: Every other weekend required
  • Call: Not required
  • Floating: As needed within scope
  • Locals Allowed: Yes
  • First Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Block Scheduling: Willing to discuss during interview

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
  • Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required within 6 months of hire for L&D
    • C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – required within 18 months of hire for L&D
  • Additional Recommended Certifications (may be required depending on unit):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
    • NIH Stroke Certification

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification required (US equivalency documentation if education completed out of county)
  • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tdap vaccine or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B – documentation of 3 doses or signed declination
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge
  • Completion of confidentiality, crime disclosure, and potential conflict of interest statements
  • 2 professional references completed within 1 year of start
  • Medication and competency exams as applicable

Notes

  • No prior travel experience required
  • Floating may be required within scope of practice
  • Block scheduling is negotiable during interview

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1 year of experience looking for a 13-week travel contract with a reputable healthcare system using EPIC EMR.
