Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
- Location: Clinton, Maryland
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department (ED) setting.
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
- Float within skillset as needed.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:4.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing.
- General ED experience with both adult and pediatric patients.
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract).
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Skills Required:
- Triage
- IV Starts
- Phlebotomy
- Preferred:
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- MAB (Medication Administration by Blood)
- Charge nurse experience
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days prior to start.
- Education verification for highest degree.
- Drug screen within 90 days prior to start (excluding marijuana).
- Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations.
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer or series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- Valid state nursing license required prior to start.
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency.
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual.
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps.
Additional Notes
- Candidates within 60 miles may be considered local.
- Must be able to float within skillset.
- Ratio of patients to nurse is approximately 1:4.
- Some facility-specific modules and attestations required prior to start.
- N95 fit test required within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed).
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, combined adult and pediatric ED environment.
