Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Unit: Telemetry, fast-paced cardiac unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks (due to compliance tier)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float within scope to all inpatient units at both campuses
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes, if signed before 1/31/25
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Licenses:
- Valid Illinois RN license required (no pending license accepted)
- Primary source verification required
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 6 months
- EPLS/GSA/SAM quarterly checks
- HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- State-specific searches for Illinois and Missouri as applicable
- Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Fit mask test (annual renewal)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility policy
- Immunizations or immunity documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Drug testing within 1 year, must include specific panels
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Facility Specific Documents:
- HIPAA Acknowledgement (annual)
- Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual)
- Confidentiality Form (annual)
- Regulatory Compliance Education (annual, must score 80% or higher)
- Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment
- Fingernail Policy acknowledgment
- Dress Code Policy acknowledgment
- Orientation Modules (approx. 16 hours, required for all RNs)
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry environment with critical care responsibilities.
- Must be compliant with facility policies and complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start.
- Floating may be required within inpatient units but always within scope of practice.
- No on-call duties.
- Weekend work every other weekend is mandatory.
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of telemetry or cardiac experience looking for a travel contract in Illinois with a reputable acute care hospital system. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
