Job Opportunity: Echo Tech - Radiology

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel (Full Time)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Perform quality diagnostic echocardiography procedures independently, responding to cardiologists' input as appropriate. Promote teamwork within the service line and departments. Maintain behavior and communication aligned with organizational mission, values, and culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform all routine echocardiograms to evaluate possible abnormal heart defects or disease.
• Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Perform stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
• Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation and check weekly for needed supplies.
• Demonstrate competence in patient care responsibilities tailored to age-specific and developmental needs.
• Adapt assessment, treatment, and service methods to accommodate patient-specific needs.
• Adhere to the core values of the healthcare organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred.
• BLS certification required (via AHA).
• Certification required: DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the cardiology field (preferred).
• Experience with stress testing preferred.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
• Weekend rotation every 5th week
• On-call 1 week every 5th week
• Patient type: Primarily adult echo patients with occasional pediatric telemedicine
• Nurse/Patient ratio: 6-8 echos per day
• Temp-to-perm possibility
