Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech (Surgical Services)

Job Description

• Backfill position in Surgical Services with rotating day/evening shifts:

  • 2x8-hour shifts and 2x12-hour shifts
  • Shift times: 06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30 and 06:30-18:30 / 10:30-22:30
  • Shift rotation is required

• Call requirements:

  • 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends of call per 4-week schedule
  • Call shifts never exceed 12 hours
  • Weekend call is either Friday & Saturday night or Saturday & Sunday daytime

• Patient population includes adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic cases with complex and high acuity patients such as:

  • Cardiac: LVAD/RVAD, Heart Transplant, Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, MAZE, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices
  • Thoracic: Transplant, VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Hiatal Hernia Repair
  • Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR Tech experience (highest required years of experience)
• Prior travel experience required
• Must be able to cardiac scrub
• Flu vaccination required by 12/1/2024 (no exemptions allowed)

Certifications & Compliance

• ACLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion accepted)
• BLS (AHA only, no certificates of completion accepted)
• PALS and NRP as applicable
• National Tech Certification verification as applicable
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for ICU and PACU units
• State license verification and NURSYS verification for applicable roles
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if past positive)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant screens not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually with strict deadlines and no exemptions
