Job Details
- Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, Nights
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Number of Rooms/Beds: 10
- Locals not accepted; 50-mile radius rule applies
- Epic experience within the last 6 months preferred (not required)

- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required as applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - Required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Required as applicable
- State License Verification (Primary source online verification required)
- NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
- Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or higher if Angoff score is higher)
- Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start; must renew annually
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
- TB Questionnaire within 90 days of start (annual renewal if positive)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; booster if negative/equivocal
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, etc.)
- Additional onsite drug screen during orientation (only 1 attempt allowed; failure results in cancellation)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or agency-approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption required (declinations not accepted)
Background & Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Education verification required (highest level of education)
- Fingerprinting required for New Mexico placements (not applicable here)
- Complete employment application/resume required
- 7-year work history verification required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Clear headshot photo for badge
Additional Notes
- Internal requirements include I9, Driver’s License/State ID, E-Verify
- References are not required to clear candidates but may be requested internally
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of medical-surgical experience seeking a travel contract in Texas with night shift options. Prior travel experience is not required.
