Position Details

- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Med Surg with higher acuity, no drips

Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years hospital experience
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, 3 weekend shifts per 6 weeks

- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for Tele/PCU, ER, ICU/CCU, PACU, OR (RQI accepted)
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Preferred Skills:
- Cardiac knowledge with self-rating of 3 or above
- Basic dysrhythmia training preferred (self-rating 3 or above)

- RTO (Request Time Off) Restrictions:
- No holiday RTO allowed
- Maximum 5 total days off in 13-week assignment
- No additional RTO after contract start
- No RTO approved the day before, day of, or day after a holiday
- Attendance Policy: Zero-fault attendance policy; any missed shift counts as unexcused. Two missed shifts result in a warning; three or more may result in cancellation.
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including a 7-year criminal search covering all counties worked in the last 7 years.
- Copy of diploma or transcript required (unofficial transcripts acceptable if graduation date is included).
- Physical exam within one year of start, stating "cleared to work" with physician's signature.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive).
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Drug test (10-panel) required within 30 days of start.
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 1).
- Completion of facility-specific modules and competency exams prior to start.
- Badge photo required before start date.
- Various facility-specific documents and agreements must be signed prior to start.
Additional Notes
- Must complete required Oracle and WorkRamp training modules before start.
- Must commit to going into the lab within 48-72 hours of signing.
- Facility uses a zero-fault attendance policy; strict adherence required.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with at least 2 years of hospital experience who are comfortable working in a higher acuity Med Surg/PCU setting with cardiac patients. The role requires strong cardiac knowledge and certifications including BLS and ACLS. The facility maintains strict attendance and compliance policies.
