Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (locals and first-time travelers accepted)
• Orientation: Every Monday
• Charting System: Meditech preferred but not required
• Float: May be required to float to other Medical Surgical units
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Telemetry: Experience required due to potential for remote telemetry monitoring
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year work/living history, sex offender registry, education verification
• Transcript or diploma verification (or acceptable alternative verification)
• State nursing license verification
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunization or titer proof for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Two professional references within 3 years
• Annual skills checklist

Additional Notes

• Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
• Completion of facility-specific forms related to security, confidentiality, behavioral expectations, HIPAA, and agency attestation required prior to start

This position is suitable for both local nurses and those new to travel nursing, with a focus on Medical Surgical care and telemetry experience.
