Job Description
- Position involves working with OB/GYN patients performing level 1 OB scans and GYN scans.
- Must be a registered diagnostic medical sonographer.
- Equipment used: GE ultrasound systems.
- Unit system: EPIC.
- Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM with a 45-minute meal break.
- No call or weekend requirements.
- Float requirement: Yes.
- Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters.
- Scheduling is per clinic needs.
- Scrubs: Not provided; any color is acceptable.
Required Skills and Certifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty.
Traveler experience: 1st time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required).

- Abdomen/Pelvis/Renal/Bladder
- Bone lengths, Cerebellum, Ventricles, Gender, Head, Heart, Bladder, Hernia
- Ovaries, Prostate, Renal/Bladder, Uterus, Vaginal
- Breast Cyst Aspiration, Breast Ultrasound, Superficial Masses
- Testicles/Scrotum, Thyroid
- Outpatient ultrasound procedures
Certifications required:
- ARDMS
- ARDMS OB/GYN
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Skills: NT (Nuchal Translucency Screen)
- Certification: ARDMS FE
Special Requirements
- Must complete background checks including criminal, education verification, and state-specific registry searches within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, physical within 30 days required.
- Fit mask testing required (N95 or PAPR training accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as per travel placement requirements.
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (10-panel drug screen).
- Immunizations and titers required: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance documents prior to start.
- Must complete Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation modules (approx. 8 hours).
- May be required to complete medication safety and other competency exams.
Additional Notes
- No call-offs or additional RTO (Return to Office) allowed after booking; violations may result in cancellation.
- Radiation badge required if applicable (for certain tech roles).
- Candidates must provide a passport-style photo for badge creation.
- Candidates must complete the Novant Corp ID process and log into I-Learn within 24 hours of receiving credentials.
- Candidates may have the option to test out of the 8-hour Epic Dimensions course if they have prior EPIC experience (not available for this specific facility).
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Ultrasound Tech specializing in Maternal Fetal imaging, working Monday through Friday with no call or weekend requirements. The role requires ARDMS certification and at least 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are welcome. The position involves working with OB/GYN patients using GE ultrasound equipment and EPIC systems. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific training is mandatory.
