Job Description
- Work primarily in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU).
- CSICU is a 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients requiring critical care post cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures.
- CSU is an 8-bed stepdown unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
- Nurses must provide complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and exhibit high professional competency.
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
- Work schedule options: 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Holiday shifts required, with every other weekend coverage.
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact license (No temporary licenses accepted).
- Required certifications:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA NIH Stroke Certification or Red Cross equivalent
- Preferred certification:
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in pediatric units.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or related specialty.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Additional Information
- This is a patient-facing, clinical role.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: Meditech.
- Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
- Parking is available.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
