Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Hospice)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position in Home Care/Hospice nursing (non-inpatient)
  • Must be willing to case manage and handle a caseload
  • 1 year of case managing experience required
  • Travel throughout the day required; own car needed
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Hospice)
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year case managing experience
  • Prior travel experience: Required (explicitly stated "HCHB + Travel Exp required")

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as required
  • State License Primary Source Verification required

Background & Compliance

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required annually
  • HHS/OIG check required annually

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start or chest X-ray for positive responders
  • TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test
  • Required vaccinations or positive titers:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start

Competencies & Documentation

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency Exam as applicable by specialty
  • Nursing Competency Self Assessment required for RNs
  • Two professional references within 3 years of start
  • Annual skills checklist

Additional Notes

  • Mileage reimbursement provided at federal rate
  • Candidate will be fitted with an N95 mask onsite

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with hospice and case management experience who is comfortable with travel and managing a caseload in a home care setting.
