Job Opportunity: RN Post Acute LTC - DAYS

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in a therapeutic environment.
• Work with residents and other care providers to ensure safety and comfort.
• Units include:

  • 3 East: 31-bed specialized unit for Alzheimer's/dementia residents, focusing on tailored care and communication techniques.
  • Transitional Rehabilitation Unit: 42-bed unit providing short-term skilled nursing and rehab services (fractures, joint replacements, stroke, etc.), including IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment.
  • 3 West: 42-bed long-term care unit for residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Valid State of Maine or compact RN license.
• BLS/BCLS certification required.

Experience

• 2 to 3 years of previous RN experience (higher end of 1-3 years range applied).

Skills

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team of care providers.
• Flexibility to cover 24/7 shifts and float to other units as needed.

Other

• Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Additional Information

• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
• Previous employees are not accepted.
• Local travelers receive a lower local rate (not applicable here).
