Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Unit: Inpatient and Outpatient echocardiograms (echos)
• All inpatient echos are portable.
• Schedule:

  • Rotating shifts: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends approximately 1 every 6 weeks with a compensatory day off during the week
• Call: Approximately once every 5 weeks for 1 week
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications & Licenses

• Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (for CRTs & RRTs)
• Additional Certifications:

  • PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable based on specialty and unit (refer to clinical track guidelines)
  • Tech Certification Verification (national certification if applicable)
  • CEUs required for Mammography Techs (if applicable)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs and LVNs)
  • Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Background check must be completed within 30 days of start
• Physical exam required within 12 months of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no pending results allowed)
• TB testing (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start, plus TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required: MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or declination
• Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof running)
• References: 2 clinical references required

Holidays

• If one major holiday falls during the assignment, traveler is expected to work it
• If two major holidays fall during the assignment, traveler is expected to work both
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Floating within the facility as needed
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start

This position offers a structured schedule with rotating shifts and weekends, requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology, and accepts first-time travel healthcare workers. Full compliance with certifications, health screenings, and facility policies is required.
