Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Job Description
- May be assigned to an "Emergency Team" during emergency events, requiring staying at the facility until the event passes or being part of the relief team.
- Must be comfortable with emergency event assignments as directed by the unit manager.
Workload & Schedule
- Average daily census: 6 patients
- Shifts: 8–10 hours, 5 days per week (coverage depends on staff numbers)
- Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
- Call: Up to 3 times per week; every other weekend with weekday call rotation
- Must respond to call within 30 minutes

About the Lab
- Progressive facility performing cardiac, peripheral, vascular (diagnostic & interventional), electrophysiology (EP), and interventional radiology (IR) procedures
- Advanced equipment includes Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, Angiojet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, Diamondback, Medrad/Acist injectors
- Imaging systems: Siemens (floor mount, ceiling mount coming soon) and Cannon labs
- EMR system: EPIC with Cupid documentation
- Highly efficient Code STEMI team with system-best door-to-balloon (D2B) times
Requirements
Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, RQI accepted

- License must be current or in renewal process prior to start
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification for highest level of education (if applicable)
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- NURSYS verification for nursing licenses within 30 days of start
Health & Safety
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for certain specialties)
- TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella – positive IGG titer or completed vaccine series
- Hepatitis B – positive antibody, vaccine series, or booster with declination option
- Varicella – positive IGG titer, vaccine series, or booster
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
Competencies & Other Requirements
- Color blind testing annually for all lab staff
- Competency exam specific to specialty, minimum 80%, updated annually
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable (check unit description)
- Photo for badge (passport-style, recent, plain background) required within 24 hours of booking

- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with advanced cardiac and vascular procedures
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
