Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel (Full Time)
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Cardiac and Telemetry patients
• Not a Stepdown unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Potential for floating to other locations
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Temp-to-perm possibility

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licenses

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience

Orientation & Competency

• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
• Precepted by trained staff with competency validations (including MedSurg specific)
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
• Annual competency verification required

Job Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently
• Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation
• Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Meet applicable organizational competencies for leadership and clinical practice

This position is ideal for an experienced RN comfortable with cardiac and telemetry patients, working night shifts, and interested in a travel assignment with potential for permanent placement.
