Job Opportunity: Telephone Triage Call Center RN
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Role: Registered Nurse in a triage call center setting
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, onsite
- Work involves handling triage calls in a clinical environment
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of clinical/clinic experience required
- Recent clinic experience mandatory
- Prior travel experience: Not required (First-timer: No)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Flu vaccination required; no exemptions or declinations accepted
Skills
- Typing speed of 40 WPM required
- Must meet all job-specific skills as outlined in the job requirements
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
- No weekend shifts required
- No floating between units
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Polio
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for the flu season (October through March)
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
- Background checks including SSN trace, county checks, sex offender, and education verification as applicable
- Must complete required facility-specific online modules prior to orientation
- Must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance
Documentation & Verification
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (one must be a supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist updated annually
- Various background checks and certifications must be current and verified
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 75 miles are acceptable
- No weekend or floating requirements
- Flu vaccine is strictly mandatory with no exceptions
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with recent clinic experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced telephone triage environment during regular business hours.
