Description
Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 4x10 hour days per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 ten-hour shift every 2 weeks)
- On-Call Requirement: 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend
- Weekend Requirement: Some Saturdays required as part of regular 4 shifts/week schedule; every 4th weekend on call
- Floating: May float within scope to Interventional Radiology (IR), Electrophysiology (EP)
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
- Time Off: One time off request per 13-week assignment, approved individually
Experience & Certifications
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)

Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath procedures including STEMI, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, Structural Heart interventions (PFO, TAVR, Mitral Clip)
- Interventional Radiology: Lines, drains, embolizations, fistulas, stroke thrombectomy
- Neurointervention
- CRM Device implants
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- CTO (Chronic Total Occlusion)
- Peripheral interventions
- Venous access
- Rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Philips X-Ray System
- Use of atherectomy and thrombectomy devices
- Temporary LVAD support
- Experience with McKesson for Cath Lab and MacLab/Cardio Lab for EP

- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, updated annually
- Respirator Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
- Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
Training & Competency Requirements
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual Regulatory Requirements
- Specialty Specific Modules (ER, L&D, Leadership roles)
- Regional Core and Specialty Modules as applicable
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Epic training modules completion required (specific to region and specialty)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit
- Competency Exams as applicable by specialty
Additional Notes
- Candidates may be required to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance
- Time off requests are limited and must be approved individually
- Locals are not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
