Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Palm Bay, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Float position covering 4 hospitals, including ED Holding.
• Must be able to float to various units and locations within the region.
• Holiday and hurricane shifts may be required.
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Call Requirement: None
• Must have a Florida State or compact nursing license at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI accepted)
• BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider, RQI accepted)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be renewed annually)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31), with medical or religious exemptions accepted only
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)

Compliance & Documentation

• 2 professional references from authority figures within the last 12 months required
• Background checks including Social Security Trace, Education Verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for all patient-facing candidates)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy, no PAPR alternative)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
• Required immunization titers within 5 years: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation required annually during flu season
• Completion of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, iCARE values, and badge photo

Additional Notes

• Travelers must be prepared to float to multiple hospital locations within the system.
• Guaranteed contracted hours.
• Strict compliance with all health and background requirements is mandatory.
• Flu vaccine exemptions require facility-specific forms and timely submission before start date.

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable with floating assignments and meeting comprehensive compliance requirements in a travel/contract role.
