Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTC) - Alaska (Travel/Contract)
Location

Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (LTC - Long Term Care)

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, variable (either days or nights, no regular rotation but occasional urgent needs)
- Patient Ratio: 1:20
- Guaranteed Hours: 64 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted (candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Accepted if application already submitted
- RTO (Request Time Off): Little to no RTO allowed; must be willing to work holidays; all RTO requests must be submitted with application and will not be considered after offer or contract signing

- Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (LTC experience required)
- First Timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Housing & Vehicle
- Housing: Provided (typically 1-bedroom apartments)
- Available no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and no later than 24 hours after contract end
- Pets not allowed
- Housing typically accommodates only the traveler; additional family members require approval
- Traveler responsible for cleaning housing upon departure (additional fees if not cleaned)
- Vehicle: Provided (company-owned, shared-use)
- Available same timeframe as housing
- Only traveler authorized to operate
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
- Personal vehicle insurance must cover rental car use
- Vehicle use limited to “around town” within 30-mile radius; no off-road or outside this radius
- Vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
- Tire chains available at traveler’s expense
- Vehicle must be turned in during time off and reissued upon return
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates; nursing degree verification for RNs
- State License Verification: Required (NURSYS verification for RNs)
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO; must indicate ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Immunizations & Health Documents:
- BLS certification required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccine or declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination required (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting; first timers not accepted
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; gaps or overlaps must be explained
- Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
Training & Modules
- Mandatory completion of facility and specialty-specific Workramp modules, including:
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Annual Regulatory Requirements modules for all caregivers
- Specialty-specific modules for LTC and RN roles
- Epic charting system training modules required
- Medication and competency exams as applicable
Additional Notes
- Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
- Little to no time off allowed during contract; must be willing to work holidays and variable shifts as needed
This position is ideal for experienced LTC Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Alaska with housing and vehicle provided.
