Job Description

• Position: Cath Lab Tech
• Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first time travel OK)
• Certification: ARRT required
• Work Schedule:

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
  • One night of call during the week (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
  • Call every 4th weekend: Friday 8:00 PM - Monday 7:00 AM (includes 24-hour call on Saturday and Sunday)
• Responsibilities:

  • Perform as first assist to physicians
  • Scrub for procedures (Left and Right Heart Cath, Coronary Intervention, Peripheral procedures, PE Thrombectomy)
  • Operate Phillips X-Ray equipment and document in GE MacLab system
  • Must be able to scrub; candidates unable to scrub will not be considered

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab tech experience
• Cath lab procedure scrub experience required for:

  • Left and Right Heart Catheterization
  • Coronary Intervention
  • Peripheral procedures
  • PE Thrombectomy
• Ability to assist physicians and manage equipment positioning
• Familiarity with Cerner and Mac Lab systems is a plus but not mandatory if able to scrub

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• ARRT certification
• ACLS (AHA only)
• BLS (AHA only)
• Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on unit requirements
• State License verification (Primary Source Verification)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (transcript/diploma or equivalent)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency within 6 months of start
• Drug testing (LabCorp panel required within 30 days of start, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 6 months)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or vaccinations)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccinations)
  • Hepatitis A and C antibody titers (within 6 months)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination (required annually with medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 seasonal vaccine required; declination form required if opting out

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Completion of facility-specific new hire forms, confidentiality agreements, standards of behavior, IT access forms, OSHA post-test, and other onboarding documents prior to start
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment application and skills checklist updated annually
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed with the system

Work Environment

• 40 hours per week Cath Lab X-ray Tech position
• On-call responsibilities as described above
• Use of Phillips X-Ray equipment and GE MacLab documentation system

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable scrubbing and assisting in complex cardiac catheterization procedures and are open to a 13-week travel assignment with on-call duties.
