Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Step Down (ED Hold Float Nurse)
Location: Vineland, New Jersey
Contract Length: 8 weeks (with likely extension)
Schedule:
- 48-hour contract, working 4 twelve-hour shifts (4 12s)
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Holiday: 1 holiday shift per contract if needed
- Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 days
Job Description
- Float nurse position supporting ED Holds.
- Must have Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience to care for Step Down and Acute Care holds.
- Emergency Department (ED) experience is a plus but inpatient experience is required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Nursing license: New Jersey or compact license accepted.
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – AHA only
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Step Down / ED Hold nursing

Orientation & Onboarding

Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must comply with various screenings and verifications including:
- Background check, drug screen, employment and educational verification
- Immunizations: COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, TdaP, Varicella
- Competency exams and skills checklists
- Confidentiality and mandatory annual training
- Various state and federal compliance screenings
This position is ideal for nurses with PCU and inpatient experience looking for a short-term contract in a supportive float role within ED Holds.
