Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (LTAC MS Tele)
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Unit: Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years in MS/Tele specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs (float between like units)
- Block scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Travel Restrictions: Per manager's discretion
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- System Contract Limit: Maximum 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
- Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted shifts are guaranteed

Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military only; documentation must reflect legal name
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military only; documentation must reflect legal name
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for certain units (ED, OR, Peds ED, PICU, etc.)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for multiple units including ICUs, Med Surg, Tele, Step Down, Radiology, etc.
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Candidates have 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher; remediation required after failed attempts
Competencies
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually
- Advanced Dysrhythmia required for ER, Peds ER, Psych ER, all ICUs, Step Down, Tele, PCU
- Basic Dysrhythmia required for Med Surg, Med Surg/Tele, Peds, Cath Lab, Special Procedures, PICU, Radiology & EP positions
- Minimum passing score: 80% with up to 3 attempts
Background Checks & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years; no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted after 2/22/2021)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual renewal required
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (specific substances listed)
- Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility-approved documentation
- COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available
