Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience required (highest years of experience specified).
  • Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract).
  • High volume/fast pace experience preferred.

• Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

• Licensure & Certifications:

  • New Jersey Nursing License or Compact License.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Note: Pending certifications or those expiring within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted.

Work Schedule & Orientation

• Weekend Shifts: Every other weekend or 3 per month, depending on needs.

• Holidays: None required.

• Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 days accepted.

• Scheduling: No block scheduling or special requests allowed.

• Orientation:

  • Completion of full orientation is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination.
  • Orientation includes virtual welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules to be completed by Monday start date.
  • In-person classes typically held Tuesday through Thursday at various locations.
  • Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager.
  • Badge ID appointment required during orientation; photo submissions not accepted. Badge needed for clock-ins.

Additional Requirements

• Compliance with various screenings and verifications including but not limited to:

  • Background check, drug screen, employment and educational verification.
  • Immunizations and vaccine requirements (COVID-19, Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, TdaP, Varicella).
  • Competency exams and skills checklists.
  • Confidentiality and mandatory annual training.
  • Various state and national registry checks.

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
