Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – EP Lab

Location: Safety Harbor, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 07:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: As needed
  • On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed
  • Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
  • Locals: Not accepted
  • Pending State License: Not accepted
  • Guaranteed Hours: After first call off per pay period
  • Block Schedule: To be discussed during interview if applicable

Specialty & Skills

  • Strong experience with:
    • Cath Lab, EP Lab, Interventional cardiac cath lab
    • Cardiac cath procedures, EP studies and procedures
    • Diagnostic cath, pacemaker/defibrillator extraction/removal
    • Medications administration, IV therapy
  • Certifications required/preferred:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
    • CCI RCES (preferred)
  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Dress code: Red top, black pants

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Active RN license for Florida (no pending licenses accepted)
    • Primary source verification of license required
    • NURSYS verification required for RN
    • BLS and ACLS current and valid
    • Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, mRS, CPI if applicable)
  • Background Checks:
    • Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of history
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required
    • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 6 months of start
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (or within 1 year if prior positive PPD)
    • Annual TB questionnaire required
    • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (titer or vaccines with boosters if needed)
    • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with mask requirement
    • COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
    • Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80%+)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (100% lethal arrhythmia score required)
    • Color blind testing (Relias)
  • References & History:
    • Two professional references from past 2 years required
    • Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Requirements

  • Driver’s license required and must remain current throughout assignment
  • Residency declaration form required for out-of-state compact license holders
  • Photo for badge required prior to start (clear, professional, no filters)
  • Completion of facility-specific online modules via BayCare Online Learning Center prior to start (4-8 hours, deadline Thursday before start)
  • Compliance with BayCare Health MSP dress code and tobacco policy
  • BayCare Health MSP AHCA privacy policy, affidavit, and demographic information sheet required for all clinical candidates

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required for this position; first-time travelers are accepted

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in electrophysiology or cardiac cath lab settings, who is comfortable with on-call and weekend shifts, and meets all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements for Florida.
