Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC / Med-Surg Tele Float Pool)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float Pool RN position covering Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) units
• Float between Med/Surg units and IMC units
• Patient ratios: Comfortable with 1:4 to 1:6 ratios
• Patient types may include acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma patients
• Recent EPIC experience is required
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a hospital setting is required
• Must have prior experience on an IMC unit in a hospital setting

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of Telemetry experience required
• Minimum 2+ years of IMC unit experience required
• Prior travel experience not required (1st time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Valid Maryland nursing license or compact state license with proof of residency
• EPIC system experience mandatory

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
• 2-step PPD or equivalent TB screening within 1 year (with specific timing requirements for 2-step PPD)
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start date
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccination, or declination)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification required (except for Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery units)

Notes

• Candidates must submit EPIC and IMC experience on their application

• Flu shot and TB testing are strictly enforced with no exceptions
