Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (IMC) - Travel/Contract

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role in Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) units within the Float Pool.
• Float between Med/Surg and IMC units.
• Patient ratios: Comfortable with 1:4 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Care for patients with conditions such as acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of Telemetry experience in a hospital setting.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience on an IMC unit in a hospital setting.
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required.
• Recent EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
• Prior travel experience is not required (1st time travelers accepted).

Certifications & Licenses

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• Valid Maryland nursing license or compact state license with proof of residency.
• NIH Stroke Certification required (AHA or APEX accepted; must be obtained within the first week if not already held).

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Flu vaccination is required; no declinations or exemptions accepted.
• 2-step PPD or negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot) within 1 year required.
• Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years required.
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year required.
• Physical exam within 1 year required.
• Fit mask test within 1 year required.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions required.
• Proof of 2 clinical references required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have documented EPIC experience and IMC experience on their submission.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient acuity.
• Local candidates within 50 miles may have different pay considerations (not included here).
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only (not applicable for this position).
