• Coverage: Primarily Rochester General Hospital Nuclear Cardiology department with cross coverage at a secondary site

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for Nuclear Med Tech roles unless otherwise specified
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First time travelers accepted)
• Locals: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility

Required Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• ARRT (R)(N) or NMTCB certification
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM as required by unit description
• Tech Certification Verification (national) within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (if applicable) within 30 days of start
• NIH Stroke Certification (if required by unit)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as required)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (as required by specialty)

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
• TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Rubella - positive titer or 1 MMR/Rubella vaccine
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer, completed series, or declination
  • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
• Drug Testing (within 30 days of start)
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification

• Government Issued Photo ID required
• 7 Year Criminal Background Check within 3 months of start (including felony checks)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if applicable
• Education Verification from primary source (no hard copies accepted)
• Transcript/Diploma if no education verification on file
• References: 2 references within 3 years (required for Aya candidates)
• Employment Application required
• Skills Checklist (annual)
• Work History Verification: at least 2 past employments verified

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

• NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable) within 3 months of start for certain care settings
• NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (for specific units)

• Sex Offender Registry Search within 30 days of start
• NY Medicaid Exclusion List check within 3 months of start, run monthly

• Candidate will cover two sites, primarily the Nuclear Cardiology department with some cross coverage
