Job Description

  • Work in a step-down telemetry unit (MS/Tele) from ICU level care
  • No ventilator or pressor support required
  • Manage drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone
  • Sotolol initiation
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Experience in ER holding area required
  • Floating within the hospital based on skill set is required

Required Qualifications

  • Active Tennessee RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications & Training Requirements

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, valid at start
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only, valid at start
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Annual, valid at start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA): Valid within 90 days of start
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for all RN candidates; must pass with 84% or higher; two attempts allowed
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Annual requirement
  • Core Competency Training (Parts I, II, III): Annual training including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA blood-borne pathogens, TJC National Patient Safety Goals, etc.
  • Floating Policy Acknowledgement: Must be signed and valid annually

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (based on EPIC experience requirement)
  • ER holding experience required
  • Floating experience within hospital setting required

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually (5 panel minimum)
  • Immunizations and/or titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working/floating in high-risk areas)
    • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved exemption required (not required for 100% remote)
  • Respirator Fit Test to be completed onsite during orientation

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 12 months including 7-year history and alias searches
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport style, plain background)
  • Completion of online Cornerstone modules within 72 hours of assignment acceptance (approx. 12 hours)
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies and documentation
