Job Description
Seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Technologist for an 8-week travel assignment in a specialty-focused orthopedic environment. The role involves working full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (5x8s). Weekend work is not required, but occasional extended hours may be needed to accommodate inpatient scans.
The MRI Technologist will perform high-quality scans, ensure patient comfort, and collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical staff. The majority of scans are cardiac imaging, requiring experience with cardiac exams. The candidate will scan both inpatients and outpatients.

- Staffing Ratio (Days): 1:2
- Shift: 8:00am–4:00pm (No rotating shifts)

Required Licenses & Certifications
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- ARRT (MR) with "(R)" credential indicating Advanced MR license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- IV Certification (must be in hand at start; distinct from venipuncture certification)

- Musculoskeletal: Foot, Hand, Hip/Bony Pelvis, Knee, Lower Extremity Long Bones, Shoulder, Sternum, TMJ (with/without contrast), Upper Extremity Long Bones

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- Experience with cardiac exams is required
- Prior travel experience is not required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Additional Information
- Electronic documentation experience (EPIC) preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred

Compliance & Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including Social Security Trace, New York State search, county/statewide searches, FACIS Level 3, sex offender database, nationwide and international searches if applicable)
- Education verification required (High School/GED minimum for allied travelers unless higher degree held)
- Drug screen: Aya standard 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (instant tests acceptable)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers with vaccination requirements if negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B positive titer or declination
- Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year, updated annually
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 1
- Harassment prevention training certificate (New York specific) required
- Various competency exams and acknowledgments required (e.g., medication test, color blind testing, OSHA, core training modules)
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments (e.g., code of conduct, privacy, drug-free workplace, quality and safety practices) must be completed and signed
References & Verification
- Two manager/supervisor references required (manager or supervisor titles only; charge nurse generally not acceptable without approval)
- Verification of all current and previous employment (up to 7 years) required
- Skills checklist updated annually required
