Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Weekends: None
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (First-time travelers accepted)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate
Required Certifications & Verifications
Licenses:
- State License verification required within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- Allied Annual License Verification (if applicable) within 30 days prior to start
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) annually within 30 days prior to start
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for certain specialties; check if applicable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Generally required except for some tech roles
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for some RN specialties if applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – If applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Online course required within a few months of hire if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – If required, must be completed yearly
- Tech Cert Verification – National certification verification if applicable
Required Competencies & Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs and LVNs)
- Color Blind Testing Online (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (for Nursing and Allied)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start (required by agency)
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start (PPD, QGold, or TSpot)
- TB Questionnaire (required for all candidates, updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Background Check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Education Verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
Facility Policies
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may delay start by 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
This position offers a structured weekday schedule with no weekends or call, suitable for MRI Techs with at least 1 year of experience in Radiology/Cardiology. First-time travelers are welcome.
