Job Description

  • Emergency Department Registered Nurse needed for 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
  • Rotating weekly schedule example:
    • Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    • Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
    • Week 3: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
    • Week 4: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
    • Week 5: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    • Week 6: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred

Required Skills

  • Ventilator management
  • IV start
  • Triage
  • Telemetry
  • Conscious sedation

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Prior travel experience required (at least 1 year travel experience and charge nurse experience)

Licensure

  • Must have a North Carolina nursing license or a Multistate license

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

  • Recent experience and proficiency with EPIC required

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must reside more than 40 miles from the facility (local candidates within 40 miles will not be accepted)
  • Valid Driver’s License required for address verification prior to offer acceptance
  • All Return to Office (RTO) requirements must be met at time of submission

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • E-Verify documentation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history check within a year of start, updated annually, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals/extensions
  • NURSYS verification for all RNs
  • Medication and competency exams as applicable
  • Badge photo (passport style, shoulders up, front facing, good lighting, plain background) required within 48 hours of signing
  • Self-Study Orientation and Post Test must be completed and re-completed after any contract break
  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Required immunizations or titers within 5 years: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug screening: 10-panel including marijuana within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses with prior travel and charge nurse experience, who are licensed in North Carolina or hold a multistate license, and who meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above.
