Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Washington, DC

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)

  • Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
  • Ratios: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • On-call: Not required
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years of Registered Nurse experience in specialty (Emergency Department)

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or equivalent; required for ER
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or equivalent; required for all RNs
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for all ED staff
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP) preferred but not required for ER

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Washington D.C. RN license
  • License must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (no medical or religious exemptions accepted)
  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, education verification
  • Drug screening: 9-panel within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, must meet physical demands of position
  • Fit mask testing within one year, updated annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or declination form)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
    • Flu vaccine required annually (religious/medical exemptions accepted with approval)
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment application including licensure, certifications, education, and employment history

  • No prior travel experience explicitly required
  • Parking and transportation details should be planned ahead of first day
  • Candidate must complete facility-specific forms and acknowledgements prior to start
  • Certification cards must be valid and not expiring within 30 days of start date; no temporary or proof of completion accepted
