Job Opportunity: Stepdown Cardiac Registered Nurse
Location: Pinehurst, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- 4 nightshift travel nurses needed
- Float pool position rotating between multiple stepdown/intermediate care units based on unit needs
- Must have skills and experience in stepdown/intermediate level nursing
- NC nursing license required
- Must not reside in Moore County
- Facility unable to accommodate return-to-office (RTO) on major holiday weeks
- ASAP start

Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with stepdown/intermediate care experience

- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RNs

- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – As applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Required for ICU, PCU/Stepdown, ER, and other specified units
- Color Blind Testing – Required for all candidates
- Competency Exam – As applicable to specialty
Licensure & Verification
- NC RN license required with primary source verification
- NURSYS verification prior to start (as applicable)
- NPI Number required for all Physical Therapists (not applicable here)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (to meet agency standards)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (PPD within 3 months or Qgold/TSPOT within 1 year) updated annually
- TB questionnaire if history of positive TB, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters may be allowed pending documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (11/15 - 03/31)
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, PCP, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, MDMA/MDA)
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Government-issued photo ID required on person during hours of service
- Completion of facility-specific modules (up to 21 hours) prior to start, with monitoring by agency
- Two clinical references required (one must be from supervisor or higher)
- Annual skills checklist required

- Facility uses EPIC for charting
- Scrub color: Any solid color except ER (solid black), OR/L&D provided
- Free parking available in staff areas
