Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (EP Lab)
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty

- Must have experience and familiarity with Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs)
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience in adult cardiovascular patient care
Licenses & Education
- RN license valid for Oregon and Washington
- BSN or higher degree required
- BLS certification required (AHA provider only)
- ACLS certification required (AHA provider only)
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred (AHA/AAP only)

Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct patient and family interviews to assess understanding of cardiac monitoring devices
- Independently perform CIED interrogation in outpatient settings
- Troubleshoot device function, settings, arrhythmia episodes, and interventions
- Collaborate with electrophysiology (EP) and multidisciplinary teams for patient care
- Analyze clinical data and document CIED management summaries and clinic notes
- Triage patient clinical concerns related to cardiac device care
- Educate patients and families on disease management and device follow-up
- Manage device alerts, advisories, and recalls in partnership with vendors and teams
- Proactively review patient schedules to optimize clinical workflow
- Assist with data collection for quality initiatives and national registries
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Background check within 6 months prior to start (includes education and work history verification)
- National Sex Offender Search and other federal checks required within 30 days prior to start
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
- Physical exam per Aya Healthcare standards (within 1 year)
- Fit mask test required within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella immune titers or vaccines with declination if applicable
- Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
- Varicella immune titer or vaccines with declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (deadline 12/01/2025)
Additional Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (85% or higher)
- Stroke CEUs required for certain units (not specified if applicable here)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification if applicable
Facility Specific Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific professional appearance policy and job description acknowledgment prior to start
- Completion of required online Compass modules before badge issuance (for RNs)
- Must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date (no planned unavailability without prior notice)
- References: Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
