Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in Cath Lab (no first-time travelers)
• Proficiency in embolization, coiling, ablations, and implants (ports, pacemakers, ICDs)
• Skilled in Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser, and thrombectomy devices
• Experienced in STEMI care with focus on First Time Balloon (FTB) / Door to Balloon (DTB) < 60 minutes
• Capable of performing peripheral and electrophysiology (EP) procedures

Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA only, RQI accepted)
• BLS (AHA only, RQI accepted)
• ARRT(R)
• Louisiana State Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) state license (temporary license takes 14 days; must apply within 48 hours of signing)

Workload & Schedule

• Average daily census: 6 patients
• Shifts: 8–10 hours, 5 days per week (coverage depends on department staffing)
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
• Call: Up to 3 times per week; every other weekend with weekday call rotation
• Call response time: Must respond within 30 minutes

About the Lab

• Progressive facility performing cardiac, peripheral, vascular (diagnostic & interventional), EP, and interventional radiology (IR) procedures
• Advanced equipment includes: Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, Angiojet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, Diamondback, Medrad/Acist injectors
• Imaging systems: Siemens (floor mount, ceiling mount coming soon) and Cannon labs
• EMR system: EPIC with Cupid documentation
• Highly efficient Code STEMI team with system-best Door to Balloon (D2B) times

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy required)
• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification of highest level required (if no state license)
• Sex offender search required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Competency exam specific to specialty required annually (minimum 80%)
• Color blind testing required annually for all lab staff
• Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap required for select areas)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: positive IGG titer or completed vaccine series
  • Hepatitis B: positive surface antibody, completed vaccine series, or booster after negative titer
  • Varicella: positive IGG titer or completed vaccine series
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
• Photo for badge: full color, passport-style, taken within last 6 months

Important Notes

• Upon assignment acceptance, may be required to join an "Emergency Team" during emergency events and stay at the facility until the event passes or be part of relief teams
• Must be comfortable with emergency event assignments as directed by unit manager

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technologists with strong procedural skills and a commitment to patient care in a fast-paced, advanced cardiac care environment.
