Job Summary
The Licensed Physical Therapist provides and executes physical therapy plans of care for patients with impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status due to injury, disease, or other causes.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Main Campus Outpatient PT
Requirements
Education & Licensure
- B.S. in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
- Current licensure by the Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners (licensure processing time approx. 3 weeks)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist preferred (use 1 year as required experience)

Essential Job Functions
- Evaluate and implement physical therapy plans of care
- Document patient care and charges accurately
- Provide leadership and direction to Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, and students
- Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and comply with hospital policies
- Engage in departmental operational planning and goal-setting meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, reading, writing, talking, and computer use
- Hearing and clear speaking ability for communication
- Visual acuity for reading screens and printed materials
- Manual dexterity for palpation, typing, writing, and handling objects
- Physical flexibility for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, standing, reaching, lifting, and moving objects/equipment (up to ~25 lbs with assistance)
- Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations
Work Environment
- Indoor work with possible schedule changes, variable hours, overtime, and occasional weekend hours on short notice
- Local travel between multiple sites may be required
- Exposure to temperature changes, hazardous fumes, odors, and infectious diseases (e.g., HIV, Hepatitis B, TB)
- Noisy environment with frequent interruptions
- Work may involve stressful pressures and deadlines
- Uniform and accessory restrictions may apply
Required Certifications & Documents
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check including education verification and criminal history
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 1 year
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (TDAP required, exemptions require approval)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (exemptions require advance approval)
- COVID vaccination highly encouraged but not mandatory
Additional Onboarding Information
- Attendance at Occupational Health Appointment and Orientation required prior to start
- Orientation typically held once per week on Tuesdays
- Completion of electronic onboarding documents and confidentiality agreements required before start date
- Two professional references verified within one year of start
