Job Description

  • Must be comfortable working in Long-Term Care (LTC) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings.
  • Guaranteed hours based on signed contract.
  • Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review and possible cancellation.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates (AHA or RQI acceptable).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for ICU RNs; preferred for LTAC RNs.
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, STABLE) may be required depending on unit assignment.
  • State License: Primary source verification required.
  • NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required.
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for RNs.
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for RNs (arrhythmia and drug calculation tests on first day of orientation; two chances to pass).

Required Documents & Background Checks

  • Proof of identity (I9, government-issued photo ID).
  • Social Security Card (if used on I9).
  • E-Verify proof.
  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • South Carolina statewide search required regardless of residence.
  • Education verification (highest level of education for RNs: associate, bachelor, master, or doctorate).
  • Transcript or diploma from highest level of education.
  • Employment application.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
  • References: 2 within 1 year of start.
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge.
  • Compliance with facility attendance and on-call policies.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity/exemptions for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug testing within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxy + Marijuana).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declining during flu season).
  • COVID-19 vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form).
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required.

Competency Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Color blind testing if working in lab roles (not applicable for RN LTC/SNF).

Additional Notes

  • All RN candidates must pass required exams by the second attempt.
  • Candidates will be allowed to test out of Epic.
  • RTO (Request Time Off) must be included in initial submission; late requests will not be considered.

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience in LTC/SNF settings who are comfortable with weekend shifts and meeting strict compliance and certification requirements.
