Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: 3/2 start preferred
Distance Consideration: Candidates at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Job Description
- Position: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
- Preferred start date: March 2nd
- May consider candidates living 50+ miles away on a case-by-case basis
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for MS/Tele roles unless otherwise specified by recruiter.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted (as applicable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – Required as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required as applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required as applicable, with annual updates
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Required for Telemetry RNs, with up to 2 attempts allowed
- State Nursing License Verification – Required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – Required within 30 days of start
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification or transcript/diploma required
- State-specific checks for Texas (Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) required within 30 days of start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed
- Physical Exam required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Fit Mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required and updated annually
- Immunizations and Titers required (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract unless otherwise noted):
- TB test or chest X-ray (annual questionnaire required)
- Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B – positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella – positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap – within 10 years
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or exemption (for 2025-26 season)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test accepted)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
