Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start date within the next 3-4 weeks
- Experience needed in General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Trauma, and ENT
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Call required
- Schedule is variable and will change weekly; no set days guaranteed
- Block schedule not approved
- Variable shifts to be discussed during interview (options include 3x12-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts with rotating days off and call)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years typical for OR RN roles unless otherwise specified by recruiter

Background and Compliance Requirements
- 10-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Search required within 30 days prior to start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Check required within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required for specialized areas (e.g., Cath Lab, CVOR, L&D)
- Confidentiality and security agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Drug screening required (negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
- N95 Fit Test required within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
- TB screening (negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months) or chest x-ray if positive
- Immunizations required: TDAP (within 10 years), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (all with positive titer or vaccination documentation)
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- General competency exam and age-specific competency exam required within 1 year of start
- Skills checklist required and must be updated annually
